The 19th International Architecture Exhibition
At the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, OLL collaborated with Ma Yansong,
founding partner of MAD Architects, to present the lighting installation Chinese Paper
Umbrella.
The installation uses traditional Chinese oil paper as its primary material, creating a
light and suspended spatial structure. The exterior evokes a natural landscape, while
the interior combines controllable lighting and mist effects to form an interwoven
field of light and shadow. The project also incorporates the latest SDL smart spectrum technology, creating an expressive chromatic lighting system that reinterprets Eastern aesthetics within an international context.
